All the Info: Mun: Emma Contact: AIM @ notsweetjustsour Character(s) at Invoria: Christine Phillios | willzapyou -------------------- Character Name (and journal, if one is already made): James Samson Caldwell | neverlearns Age: 31 PB: Val Kilmer Stranger/Native: Stranger Class: Warrior Occupation: Mercenary, drunk, rabble-rouser History: Sam has been a resident of Invoria for nearly twenty years. First sent over at the tender age of eleven (one of the ladies down the street was an old gypsy woman, Sam made good sport of maliciously harassing her cats), he found himself all of a on his own and struggling to survive. He nearly didn't, several times. But somehow, he managed to eke out a living, not above playing on sympathy when necessary and learning to steal when he could.
He was perhaps taken pity upon during his early teens and a village blacksmith took him in and taught him the trade of metalworking. A widower with no children, Harker did his best with the sullen Sam, trying to mold the boy into a man, but despite his best efforts, Sam turned out mediocre at best. Although he took to swordplay like a fish to water and is very skilled, he is, nevertheless, lazy and only does just enough to put a few coins in his pocket, most of which is spent on women and liquor. Personality: Sam is, predominately, a lazy layabout, a drunkard and a lover of all things easy and, best of all, free. A warrior when he needs to be, a pickpocket when opportunity presents itself, and a brawler when he's drunk (which is often), Samson has a split reputation of being a skilled man with a blade and a worthless pig of a human being otherwise.
He's childish and rude, possessing a smarmy sense of humor but hardly high in wit. He has a high survival instinct, almost a knack, necessary to have survived this long in such a harsh world. Whatever he was sent to Invoria to learn, he has yet missed it, or simply refused to look for it, thus his presence still in the parallel world. Deep down, he's still that hateful, spiteful and very miserable eleven year old boy, lost and alone but refusing to put it aside and move on into adulthood.
Samson isn't entirely without redeeming qualities; he does, not that he'll admit it, have a solid moral code; he learned from Harker not to hit women even if they deserve it, to fight with honor until it's time to not, and always clean your sword before you sheath it. All puns intended. Your Goals for Your Character: GROW UP. BECOME A MAN, BOY. SO YOU CAN FINALLY GO HOME.
